I love myself, do you?

Michaela Cisarikova Dance Company (SK)

“I Love Myself, Do You?” uses hip hop, contemporary dance and physical theatre to explore an old Cherokee fable of two wolves. The project dives into concepts of beauty, identity and self-worth. As the fable goes, all of us have two wolves inside that are always fighting against one another. One is good, the other is evil. Which one wins? The one you feed.

Three dancers with incredible physicality bring “I Love Myself, Do You?” to life, all with a vibrant original score composed by Ross Allchurch, and outstanding visuals, including an enormous, silky Louise Jane designed skirt that covers the entirety of the stage. With the help of an electric fan, the skirt is designed to keep floating during the entirety of the piece, creating mesmerising images throughout. The transparency of the material and the use of light also enable some beautiful shadow imagery created under the skirt.
